Chief of Naval Operations' Office of Training Technology
The Office of Training Technology (OTT) works to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Navy training programs through the use of proven and emerging training technologies. The OTT serves as a broker of training technology data and information, and coordinates training technology issues, opportunities, initiatives, programs, feasibility studies, policy, guidance and standards. Content includes topics such as distance learning, modeling and simulation, web-based courses, human factors in training systems, educational technology and information technology, and research and development.

The Secretary of the Navy established the office of the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (DON CIO) in 1997 to provide top-level advocacy in the development and use of IM/IT and to create a unified IM/IT vision for the Department. Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk
The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center's mission is to provide logistics and support services to fleet units and shore commands. FISC Norfolk is the mid-Atlantic region provider of quality, cost-effective supply and support services. To accomplish this mission FISC will provide services to the Navy, Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command and other U.S. Government agencies. FISC will also serve as the customers' advocate to the supply system and assist in ensuring that the appropriate material is either positioned at the center, or available from alternate governmental or commercial sources. All FISCs have eight basic products or services they provide. Each is geared toward providing total support o operational readiness and customer satisfaction. TheFleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) San Diego provides logistics, business and support services to fleet, shore and industrial commands of the Navy, Coast Guard and Military Sealift Command, and other U. S. and foreign government agencies. FISC San Diego supports operational readiness by teaming with regional partners and customers to provide material management, procurement, contracting and transportation services, technical and customer support, defense fuel products and worldwide movement of personal property.
Military Sealift Command
Military Sealift Command provides ocean transportation of equipment, fuel, supplies and ammunition to sustain U.S. forces worldwide during peacetime and in war for as long as operational requirements dictate. The largest of the Navy's five systems commands, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) engineers, builds and supports America's Fleet of ships and combat systems. Navy Acquisition, Research and Development Information Center (NARDIC)
NARDIC is the designated point within the Navy where research development and development planning and requirements information is available for review by qualified representatives of industry. It was established because of the recognized benefit to the Navy of civilian participation in research and development relevant to the Navy requirements. Site maintains a wide variety of pubs and regulations and a set of good links. A portion of the site is restricted to commercial firms registered as a DoD contractor with the Defense Technical Information Center.
CALS (Continuous Acquisition and Life-Cycle Support) was a DoD initiative to dramatically improve weapon system acquisition and life-cycle support through the acquisition, creation, management, and use of digital product data and technical information. Though CALS is no longer a recognized initiative of DoD or the Navy, its goal of institutionalizing digital data and processes for life-cycle support of weapon systems remains a keystone of the Navy's process improvement efforts. The Navy is well underway towards establishing new digital product data environments and integrated data environments (IDEs), both within individual programs and across the corporate infrastructure. The acquisition of new digital logistics data and the conversion of existing legacy (hardcopy) logistics data play vital roles in the achievement of the Navy's IDE objectives. The Technical Information Systems Department, Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center maintains this Web site and provides support to the Navy and DoD activities and programs implementing digital data technology applications and standards. Office of Naval Research
